Batesville, Ark. (April 29, 2026) – Spartan Mowers & UTVs has partnered with the Batesville School District on a community-focused project to transform a retired school bus into a mobile resource center designed to serve families throughout the Batesville area.
“We are proud to partner with our local schools on projects to help better our community,” stated Wiley Osborn, Human Resources Manager for Spartan Mowers & UTVs. “The Mobile Hub will be a great asset to the school and surrounding community. We look forward to continuing to work with Batesville High School on the Mobile Hub project.”
The bus will function as a moving community hub, providing access to essential services and resources such as food and clothing distribution, medical screenings, school resources, and other outreach initiatives. By bringing these services directly into neighborhoods, the Mobile Hub aims to reduce barriers and increase access for those in need.
As part of the partnership, Spartan Mowers & UTVs played a key role in transforming the bus. The company assisted with refurbishing the interior and exterior, painting, and updating necessary mechanical items to ensure it is functional, welcoming, and ready to support a wide range of community programs.
Batesville School District’s Community Schools team works to connect students and families with the resources they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Through strong partnerships with local groups and organizations and a focus on the whole child, the team helps remove barriers to learning by supporting basic needs, expanding opportunities, and strengthening family engagement across Pioneer Nation.
In addition, members of the Batesville High School East Program were able to assist with the design by collaborating with the Batesville Community Schools team to help create a floor plan and source possible materials to be used.
“At the center of the Mobile Hub is a focus on students and families. This partnership between Spartan, Community Schools, BHS East Program, and Batesville School District helps make sure resources are not just available, but accessible in ways that truly make a difference,” said David Campell, Batesville School District Interim Superintendent.
The Mobile Hub has already begun serving the community, most recently with kindergarten registration, and will continue to add more events. Locations and schedules will be announced by the Batesville School District. If you are interested in participating in Mobile Hub events, contact the Batesville Hub for more information.
