Yes! Our mowers are designed with our GT Trac system to give you extra traction on hillside slopes. We also incorporate wide tires, low center of gravity, and our engines more forward mounted to provide extra traction.  

Yes! Comfort is key on a Spartan. With features including our Smart Ride Technology (SRT), Full Suspension Seat System, adjustable handles, arm rest, anti-vibration floor mats, and radial tires there's not a more comfortable mower out there. Spartan mowers range from 800 lbs (residential) to over 1,500 lbs (commercial) depending on deck size, engine, and accessories.

Use a zero turn mower jack or lift (rated for 1,000+ lbs):

1. Engage the brake, turn off the engine, and chock the rear wheels.

2. Place the jack under the front frame and lift evenly.

3. Use jack stands for safety if needed.
   Spartan’s frame design allows easy access to belts and blades once elevated.

The Spartan FRX is a rugged, high-performance utility task vehicle (UTV) designed for both work and play. It combines off-road capabilities with durability and is built by the same brand known for Spartan Mowers.

The FRX UTV is equipped with a 1000cc V-Twin engine, offering high torque for tough terrain and hauling needs.

The Spartan FRX has a top speed of around 45 mph, depending on conditions, load, and tire setup.

Street legality depends on local laws and modifications. Some areas allow UTVs on the road if equipped with lights, mirrors, turn signals, and tags. Always check your local DMV requirements.

The starting price for the Spartan FRX UTV is typically around $18,000–$20,000, depending on the model year and additional features or accessories.

All mowers come with an owners manual placed under the seat or near the engine area. All UTVs come with an owners manual placed in the glove box. You can also view your manual online along with other helpful product information on our Owners Info & Manuals page. 

For mowers and UTVs purchased through your local dealer, they will manage all product registration for you. If your mower was purchased through a Lowe's location, you may register your product here. 

As the name suggests, zero-turn mowers allow you to maneuver your mower on a turn radius that is zero degrees. In other words, you are essentially pivoting exactly where you stand (the phrase "turn on a dime" comes to mind). In order to accomplish this, there is usually no steering wheel - instead, two steering handles connected to independent wheel motors control the unit.

The lack of a steering wheel might have you concerned about your ability to drive a zero-turn mower, but they are actually quite easy and intuitive to control. Each handle operates independently, so moving the right handle will move your right wheel and vice versa. Most users find that transitioning to a zero-turn mower is much easier than they expected.

One of the biggest benefits to zero-turn mowers is the reduced amount of time required to mow a lawn. These machines are more efficient overall, as they allow you to maneuver more easily around obstacles. You also have a clear view of the cutting deck as you drive so you can trim edges and mow tight areas more easily.

Your top speed will depend on which zero-turn model you purchase and how fast you are comfortable mowing. Some models operate at up to 15 mph, though users typically mow at a somewhat lower average speed. You will also have to make considerations for riding over rough terrain or on slopes.

Smart Ride Technology consists of seven layers of comfort to provide increased traction and a smoother ride. All SRT models feature front and rear radial tires, TecsPak under the seat that are adjustable for operator weight, 360-degree seat plate to dampen shock from all directions, an ultra-premium Dymetrol suspension seat, a dial on the front of the seat to adjust for operator weight, rear suspension with springs, and front suspension forks.

Entry-level models start out with top speeds around 7 MPH while the KGZ-XD at top end of the lineup will go up to 15 MPH.

Spartan recommends a first oil change after 5-10 hours, and then after that it depends on engine model and use. Visit the mower operating manual HERE for specifics based on engine. The Toro Company (TTC) acquired the Intimidator Group family of brands on Jan. 14, 2022. TTC owns multiple brands in the outdoor power equipment industry, such as Exmark, BOSS, Ditch Witch, and Ventrac, all of which retain their independence and operate as separate divisions of TTC. While the acquisition brought about a change in ownership and provided access to additional resources, Spartan is still headquartered in Batesville, Arkansas.
